When implementing lessons for English language learners, consider the following tips:
Tip 1: Simplify vocabulary and sentence structure to encourage comprehension, but use a natural voice and pace.
Tip 2: Give instructions and questions in clear, simple English.
Tip 3: Use many verbal and non-verbal cues throughout activities. Non-verbal cues include visuals, gestures, and concrete materials.
Tip 4: Allow learners sufficient response time for oral answers.
Tip 5: Review vocabulary and concepts regularly to check for learner comprehension.
