The activities found in Hands-On Interactive for Science and Technology (HOI) are based on current Canadian curriculum documents, and include games, virtual experiments, demonstrations, diagrams, and a variety of sensory-based lessons—for the entire school year! Each activity is classroom tested, student-friendly, pedagogically sound, and engaging for students. Students can work independently, in small groups, or as a whole-class on science concepts that are introduced, reinforced, or extended in this highly relevant, interactive learning format.

The HOI activities for Grade 3 are organized into four instructional units:

  • Unit 1: Growth and Changes in Plants
  • Unit 2: Strong and Stable Structures
  • Unit 3: Forces Causing Movement
  • Unit 4: Soils in the Environment

To download HOI for Grade 3, simply click on “Add to Cart,” located in the left-hand column and proceed through checkout. When your order is complete, you will find a “Download” link for HOI for Science and Technology, Grade 3 on the “My Account” page.

The HOI downloadable link includes:
  • Approximately 40 interactive activities
  • Directions and goals for each activity
  • A single-user licence (for mac, pc, and interactive whiteboard)

Please note: While most computers will easily open these files, your PC computer may need a bit of help. After saving the file to your computer from “My Account” go to unzip-online.com to “uncompress” the file.
