Kindergarten Plus! is a child-centred, integrated program that includes engaging, exciting, and developmentally appropriate activities. Use as a core program or as a complement to an existing program. Both new and experienced kindergarten teachers will find this teacher-friendly resource invaluable.

Kindergarten Plus! consists of a balance of exploration, guided instruction, and explicit instruction with an emphasis on early literacy, numberacy, and inquiry-based learning. Kindergarten Plus! is broken down into 10 theme-based units and one getting started unit. Each unit contains hands-on activities that integrate all the subject areas.

Highlights of each monthly unit include:

  • detailed step-by-step lesson plans for language arts, mathematics, and integrated studies (arts, social studies, science, etc.)
  • learning-centre ideas that encourage creativity and exploration
  • a variety of assessment methods that have children demonstrate their learning by doing, representing, and saying
  • ideas to effectively engage parents/caregivers in their child’s education
  • sample daily planning guides to assest teachers with full-day planning

A must-have for the kindergarten classroom! An excellent collection of month-by-month practical activities and creative ideas for early-years teachers.

  2. Jana Olson

I have just started using this program in my half-day kindergarten classes. I am finding the math activities so fun and valuable. I can’t wait till the start of next school year with the I Am Special unit, and continue through all 10 months.

  3. Melanie Olthof

After attending Joni’s 1/2 day workshop I was determined to have this kit. It’s so great to have an entire years worth of resources to compliment my Kindergarten classroom. I use the take home activities as centres-the dial it up or dial it down options are great for students at any level. As an added bonus I can easily check which outcomes I have covered with the curriculum correlation booklet. With today’s tight budgets-it’s money well spent!
