In Winter Wonderland, kindergarten students will be involved in a variety of hands-on activities that discover the magic of the winter season. Activities include:

  • sorting mittens
  • creating mitten patterns and ordering mittens from largest to smallest
  • sequencing winter activities
  • counting buttons on snowmen
  • using counters to solve basic subtraction and addition problems
  • measuring the length of a mitten using various units of measurement
  • identifying and discussing the characteristics of the four season
  • investigating how an ice cube melts
  • using the sense of touch to distinguish the temperature of water

Winter Wonderland is one unit in Kindergarten Plus! Each unit delivers a developmentally appropriate approach for teaching and learning. Kindergarten students will learn through active engagement, hands-on activities, observations, experimentation, and social interaction with others.
